Jacarandas are an iconic street tree in LA: entire neighborhoods turn purple in May. Mapped, collected, and then installed overnight, the vivid purple flowers seeped into the city like some surprising, ubiquitous raw material. People filled out job applications, with questions related to their personal relationships with Los Angeles: what it hides, and what it reveals. The installation lasted six hours. Thousands visited.
